Meta Ads for Clinics in India: 8 Best Clinic Types Ranked

Meta ads for clinics work very differently by specialty. Not every clinic gets the same return from Facebook and Instagram ads. We ranked eight specialties using four signals: how many people in India search for the treatment, how interest moves across the year, the typical treatment value, and how strict the advertising rules are. The short version: skin and aesthetic, dental and hair transplant clinics lead, and the reasons tell you how to plan your own ads.
How we ranked clinic types for Meta ads
- Search demand: monthly searches summed across related treatment keywords in Google Keyword Planner, India, October 2025 to September 2026 (Keyword Planner). Search shows how many people are already looking, which predicts how large an audience Meta can find.
- Cost per click: the median "top of page" bid for those keywords, a rough signal of how much advertisers will pay for one patient.
- Trends: Google Trends interest for India and Tamil Nadu over the past 12 months (Google Trends).
- Fit and rules: how visual and personal the decision is, and which rules apply under Meta's health policy (Meta) and the NMC guidelines of 6 October 2026.
The ranking: 8 clinic types compared
| Rank | Clinic type | Searches per month | Median CPC | Meta fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Skin and aesthetic | about 5.96 million | Rs.80 | Very high |
| 2 | Dental (implants, aligners) | about 768,000 | Rs.128 | High |
| 3 | Hair transplant | about 747,000 | Rs.121 | High |
| 4 | IVF and fertility | withheld by Keyword Planner | n/a | Medium to high |
| 5 | Eye care and LASIK | about 855,000 | Rs.111 | Medium |
| 6 | Orthopaedics and knee replacement | about 978,000 | Rs.98 | Medium |
| 7 | Physiotherapy | withheld by Keyword Planner | n/a | Medium (local) |
| 8 | Piles and proctology | about 447,000 | Rs.59 | Low to medium |
Search figures are Keyword Planner volume buckets summed across related terms, so read them as orders of magnitude, not exact counts. Keyword Planner did not return volumes for our IVF and physiotherapy seed terms, so for those we rely on Google Trends.
1. Skin and aesthetic clinics
Skin is the largest category by far. "Skin specialist near me" and its variants each show about 500,000 monthly searches in Keyword Planner, and Google Trends shows "dermatologist" rising through August and September 2026. Decisions are visual and repeat (acne, pigmentation, laser hair removal, facials), and the audience is young and active on Instagram.
Watch out: the NMC guidelines now ban before-and-after photos and testimonials for doctor-led clinics, and Meta requires 18+ targeting for cosmetic procedures. Ads have to lead with doctors' qualifications, technology, fees and access. See our NMC guidelines explainer.
2. Dental clinics
Dental terms carry the highest median CPC in our data (Rs.128), and Google Trends shows "price of dental implants" up 350% as a rising query. High-value treatments like implants and aligners justify ad spend, and families choose a dentist once and stay. Meta works well for consultation bookings and local awareness.
Watch out: dentists follow the Dental Council of India's Code of Ethics, which limits advertising. Keep ads factual. Our dental marketing guide covers channels and costs.
3. Hair transplant clinics
Hair transplant is the strongest specialty in Tamil Nadu on Google Trends (average interest 73 against 18 for "dentist near me"), with a peak in early December. Rising queries such as "hair transplant is good or bad" and "hair transplant price" (+90%) show people researching before they commit. That long research phase suits Meta video ads that explain the procedure, recovery and cost.
4 to 6. IVF, eye care and orthopaedics
- IVF and fertility: Google Trends interest averaged 56 to 60 across India, with a spike in February 2026. Treatment values are high, but Meta lists IVF under reproductive health with 18+ targeting, and couples expect private, sensitive follow-up. Existing reading: IVF lead generation with Meta ads.
- Eye care and LASIK: about 855,000 monthly searches. LASIK buyers are younger and suit Instagram. Cataract patients are older and often decided by their children, so Facebook and search matter more.
- Orthopaedics: about 978,000 monthly searches, led by knee replacement terms. Reach both the patient and the adult children who research and pay.
7 and 8. Physiotherapy and piles clinics
Physiotherapy had the highest Google Trends average in our India comparison (78), rising from July to September 2026, but individual sessions are low in value. It works as a local, recurring-visit play with small radius targeting. Piles and proctology clinics show large demand (about 447,000 searches) but the lowest CPC (Rs.59). Patients are often embarrassed, so they search privately rather than respond to social ads. Start with Google search and use Meta for awareness only.
How to use this ranking for a multi-specialty clinic or hospital
If you offer several services, do not split a small budget across all of them. Pick the one or two departments that rank highest and have spare capacity, run them for 30 to 45 days, and measure cost per arrived patient. Then add the next department.
- Lead with high-demand, high-value services: dermatology, dental implants or aligners, hair restoration.
- Use search for private or urgent needs: piles, emergency care, kidney stones.
- Plan for the season: Google Trends shows "hospital marketing" interest peaking in early December, and hair transplant interest in Tamil Nadu peaking in the same month.
- Keep one message per ad: a skin ad and an orthopaedic ad speak to different people, ages and worries.
