Where manual time goes
We break a manual order into three repeated steps per player. The figures below are the estimates used in our calculator.
| Step, per player | By hand | With AJILE |
|---|---|---|
| Type name and number, check fit | 20 s | about 1 s |
| Export the piece | 30 s | about 3 s |
| Rename the file for the printer | 15 s | 0 s (automatic) |
| Total per player | 65 s | about 4 s |
For an 18-player order that is about 19.5 minutes by hand against just over 1 minute with AJILE. A shop doing six such orders a day spends close to 2 hours a day on these steps alone, or about 50 hours a month over 26 working days.
What the numbers leave out
The table counts only the front or back. Shorts and sleeves repeat the work. Long names on kids' sizes need extra checking. Mistakes caught after printing cost fabric and ink. Each of these makes the manual figure larger, so the estimate is on the low side.

Nishanth, Jaypee Sportswear, ThanjavurWhen doing it by hand still makes sense
- You take very few named orders.
- Every order is a one-off design with no repeated template.
- You do not use CorelDRAW on Windows.
