Jersey artwork time savings calculator

Work out how many designer hours your shop spends on the repetitive part of team orders, and what those hours cost.

Updated 18 Oct 2026
A jersey shop spends about 65 seconds per player on typing, exporting and renaming when it works by hand, and about 4 seconds with AJILE. Multiply by orders, players and working days to see the monthly hours, then by your designer's hourly cost.

How the numbers work

Rename the file15 s0 s

Hours per day = orders x players x seconds per player / 3,600. Monthly hours freed = (manual hours minus AJILE hours) x working days. The money figure divides salary by working hours in the month (days x 8) and multiplies by the hours freed.

Example: 6 orders of 18 players is 108 pieces a day. By hand that is 7,020 seconds, about 1.95 hours. With AJILE it is 432 seconds, about 7 minutes. Over 26 days, about 48 hours are freed.

Questions

Where do the timings come from?

They are per-step estimates from watching jersey designers work: 20 seconds to type and check a name and number, 30 seconds to export a piece and 15 seconds to rename the file. Your shop may be faster or slower.

Why is AJILE about 4 seconds per player?

Filling a name takes about a second and exporting a piece about three. AJILE names the files itself, so renaming is zero.

Does this include shorts and sleeves?

No. Set players per order higher (for example double it) if every player also gets shorts or sleeves.
