Why rosters are big in Namakkal
Namakkal and nearby Rasipuram and Tiruchengode have many large schools, including residential schools with thousands of students. A single school can need house T-shirts, sports-day kits and ID cards in the same month. The town is also known for poultry and lorry body building, which add company orders.
Student rosters are long and they change. AJILE works from the school's own Excel sheet, and the PI module matches each student's photo by serial number, so the ID card batch and the T-shirt batch come from the same list.

School calendar
School sports days and annual days run from November to February. Kabaddi and volleyball tournaments are common in the district around Pongal.
Tip for school photo ID batches
Ask the school for photos named by the student's serial number, the same number as in their Excel list. AJILE's PI module accepts 1, 01 or 001, so the school can use whatever their software exports. Photos are centre-cropped to the frame, which avoids the stretched faces that come from forcing different camera sizes into one card.
